Roger White was born in Bushey, Hertfordshire, England. His family immigrated to Canada in 1953. He worked as a reporter, editor, and in public affairs and communications for the federal government. After leaving government in 1998, he worked as a communications consultant, speechwriter, and media relations trainer. He and his wife live in Ottawa.
