Susan Wilkins was born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. She currently lives in Devon. She is an author and former television writer. She has over 130 broadcast credits to her name, including Casualty, Holby City, Heartbeat, Coronation Street and Eastenders. She created the BBC detective series South of the Border. She is the creator of:
1. 'Jo Boden', a Detective Sergeant of the Major Investigations Team.
2. 'Kaz Phelps', a woman on the run from the past and the legacy of her criminal family.
3. 'Megan Thomas', a Detective Sergeant in Devon.
