Paul J. Heald was born in DeKalb, Illinois. He currently lives in Champaign, Illinois with his wife. He is an author and law professor. He is the creator of the 'Clarkeston Chronicles' series featuring law professor Stanley Hopkins and other protagonists in Clarkeston, Georgia.
