Douglas Howard Heyes was born in Los Angeles, California. He was an author, film and television writer, director, producer, actor, and composer. In the 1970s and 1980s, he contributed as writer and director on Alias Smith and Jones under the pseudonym Matthew Howard, created Barbary Coast and was responsible for two hit mini-series, Captains and the Kings (1976) and North and South (1985). |
