Julian Rathbone
1935-2008
 

Julian Christopher Rathbone was born in Blackheath, London. He was an author and teacher. He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge in 1958. He taught from 1959 until 1973, first in Turkey, then in England. He is the creator of:
1. 'Jan Argand', a Police Commissioner in the fictional city of Brabt in a fictional country.
2. 'Nur Bey', a colonel and policeman in Turkey.
3. 'Renata Fechter', head of a German squad of Eco-Cops.
4. 'Chris Shovelin', a private investigator.
