Claire Berenice Rayner was born in London. She was an author, nurse, journalist, and broadcaster. In 1945, her family emigrated to Canada but she returned to England in 1951 where she trained as a nurse. She is the creator of 'George Barnabas', a female consultant pathologist and police surgeon in London. |
