Ian Sansom was born in Essex but now lives in Northern Ireland. He also writes in other genres. He is the creator of:
1. 'County Guides Mystery' series featuring Spanish Civil War veteran Stephen Sefton and professor Swanton Morley, amateur sleuths in 1930s England.
2. 'Mobile Library Mystery' series featuring Israel Armstrong, a librarian and amateur sleuth.
