Douglas Noel Adams was born in Cambridge. He was an author, screenwriter, essayist, humorist, satirist, and dramatist. He is best known for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which was made into a movie starring Martin Freeman. He is the creator of 'Dirk Gently', a holistic detective.
