James Hogg Hunter was born in Maybole, Scotland. He emigrated to Canada in 1913. He was an author, biographer, and journalist. He worked for the Peterborough, Ontario Farm and Dairy newspaper, the Toronto Globe, and was editor of the Evangelical Christian magazine until his retirement in 1969.
