Alan Russell grew up in Sunnyvale, California. He is a former general manager of a luxury resort in La Jolla, California. He is the creator of:
1. 'Hotel Detective Mystery' series featuring Am Caulfield, an assistant manager and hotel detective at hte Hotel California.
2. 'Michael Gideon and Sirius', an LAPD detective and his German shepherd partner.
3. 'Stuart Winter', a private investigator in San Francisco, California.
