Richard Albert Wilkes-Hunter was born in Hunters Hill, New South Wales, Australia. He also wrote under the pseudonyms 'Tod Conrad', 'Alex Crane', 'Caroline Farr', and 'Bradley Ross'. Most sources claim that 'Caroline Farr' is a pseudonym used by Allan Geoffrey Yates but that is not the case.
